This might not be too helpful for a lot of the people that read this site, but I know some of this stuff will be handy for some, and I want to have it bookmarked just the same.
I have noticed lots of discussion about OpenID, as it is gaining momentum as an authentication standard. There's an MT Plugin, which I'd install if I ever desired authentication on this site, as well as how to turn your site into an OpenID.
I've come across a good deal of open-source and free web template sites, some I've mentioned before, but I figured I'd list them all here just to have them all in one place:
