UtterlyBoring.com is produced by Jake Ortman (e-mail, resume), a 30-year-old dad, percussionist, freelance Web designer, consultant and jack-of-all-trades computer geek, living in Bend, Oregon. He created this so that his expensive journalism and technology degree isn't getting totally wasted. It's my personal cell, but I use it a lot for work. Since I'm out in the public (often covering city council meetings, court cases, etc.) I leave my phone on vibrate. That way if someone really needs to get a hold of me I can look at the screen to see who's calling, and then step outside if it's important. It's less distracting to everyone else, and I don't look like such an ass right in the middle of something important (I'm speaking from experience!)
