Central Oregon Web Professionals User Group Meets Tomorrow
I should be able to make it (might be a few minutes late as I'll be coming straight from work), but tomorrow evening at Edge Wireless is the first meeting of the Central Oregon Web Professionals Usergroup. Jen has a post about it here, and there's an announcement on upcoming.org. Hopefully I'll see some of you there!
Jen said on 10/10/06 @ 11:59 AM: Thanks, Jake ... See ya there! (you are presenting, right? ;) )
Jake said on 10/10/06 @ 12:01 PM: HAHAHA....that's funny. :-P
Sandra said on 10/10/06 @ 12:54 PM: gawrsh.
your blog used to be this wonderful fun place with lots of fun links and interesting posts. Now it's just become this self-obsessed place where you just write totally non-interesting stuff about yourself and Bend.
course its entirely upto you as it's your blog, but just in case you've been too self obsessed to notice, your entire blogging methodology has changed.
Jake said on 10/10/06 @ 01:01 PM: Yes, I know it has, Sandra. Lack of free time and a recognition that my blog is read by a ton of locals has changed things a bit. I try not to be too self-obsessed, and I'd love to just post mindless links all day long, but I'm yet to find somebody to pay me a full-time wage to do that ;-)
But trust me, Sandra, I know it has, and I'd certainly like to go back to my old ways. But sometimes it just takes less time to write something personal than it takes to be creative with a link/game/story from somewhere else.
New, interesting information. Fun links and cool things to check out on the Internet. Tidbits about events in our community.
Jake, you continue to have one of the most well rounded general interest blogs that I know of. Keep up the good work!
Krista said on 10/13/06 @ 03:02 PM: Hi Jen and Jake. I hope your first Web Professionals meeting was a huge success. I was wondering if you have a website for your group. If so, would you be interested in posting career opportunities. Of course, we would pay. I would at least want to make a contribution to cover the hard work.
We have a Webmaster position available at BendBroadband and would like to get the word out.
Jesse said on 10/14/06 @ 06:37 PM: (?) Isn't calling a blogger self-obsessed kind of like complaining that ice cream is cold?
