About Time Somebody Spoke Up

Finally somebody with some common sense in the fashion world:

MADRID, Spain - Spain’s top fashion show has turned away a slew of models on grounds they are too skinny — an unprecedented swipe at body images blamed for encouraging eating disorders among young people.

Organizers of the pageant, known as the Pasarela Cibeles, used a mathematical formula to calculate the models’ body mass index — a measure of their weight in relation to their height — and 30 percent of the women flunked, said the Association of Fashion Designers of Spain.

Runway models like that have never been attractive to me. My wife and I watch Project Runway, and the models are all way too twiggy for me. I prefer a bit more meat on the bones of my women, thank you.

Jake if you watch Project Runway you might understand the model culture a little more when Heidi is always say "in or out" and it's closer to the truth than you'd ever think.

Food goes IN. Food comes OUT.

And in fashion, things move fast. So the IN/OUT aspect has to be closer together as well.

Auf Wiedersehen

No one would ever confuse me for a runway model.

...me either. And I'm glad for that. When I'm hungry, I get to eat. Nyah, nyah.... LOL I would hate being hungry and always be obsessing over how I look. It doesn't seem like a very positive way to live one's life.
