UtterlyBoring.com is produced by Jake Ortman (e-mail, resume), a 33-year-old dad, percussionist, sysadmin, Web developer, IT consultant and jack-of-all-trades geek, living in Bend, Oregon. He created this so that his expensive journalism and technology degree isn't getting totally wasted. In addition to editing this site in his free time, he is the IT Director and graphic designer at both Sunray and Discover Sunriver. You Thought You Had a Bad Couple Weeks?Sorry to say, but Jon and his wife have you beat. First their daughter had to have eye surgery (which will cost a pretty penny). Then, Jon's wife had to have her gall bladder removed (which will cost a pretty nickel). Then Jon's goes to work this morning, and gets in a three-car accident on Franklin, bashing up his car pretty good (which just sucks). He came out OK (at least he says), but it still is a lousy way to start the day. They have insurance, but that doesn't mean it's not going to drain them. Our thoughts are with you, Jon (we old-time original bloggers in the area watch out for each other).
