Burton said on 07/06/06 @ 09:40 AM: People saying stupid things like this just irritate me: '"For the record, this is a Dell machine," notes Gaston. "It is only a matter of time until such an incident breaks out on a plane," he suggests.'
Why is that necessary to say? It could set fire to an orphanage in some third world country, killing hundreds of children. It could cause famine if it were to burn crops... but the whole point is that it didn't. It happened at a conference and until ALL THE FACTS ARE KNOWN such speculation is simply that: speculation.
Burton said on 07/06/06 @ 09:42 AM: ... and furthermore, I'd like to point out that almost every manufacturer has had to recall laptops due to battery problems. Apple has had several recalls, yet I'd still buy one in a heartbeat. Dell simply sells the most and is therefore the most visible. For the love of God I can't fucking stand reactionaries.
