Two Bend teens were burned, one critically, Monday evening while allegedly "huffing" gasoline fumes, when one spilled gas onto his clothes and the other started playing with a lighter and lit him on fire, police said.

Firefighter/paramedics put out the blaze and took Michael Davis, 15, and Lee Helms, 16, to St. Charles Medical Center-Bend for treatment of burns, Koester said. Helms was treated and released, while Davis was flown by Air Life helicopter to the burn center at Legacy Emanuel Hospital in Portland, where he was in critical condition early Tuesday.
Who knows, maybe the gasoline spill was around the groin.
"'Huffing' gasoline fumes." Sheesh. When I was their age I found alcohol entertaining enough.

Michael was cleaning his go-cart and accidently spilled some gasoline on his shirt and then went inside the house. Went into his room where his so called friends were messying around with a lighter and got the spark going. His is still in bad shape for the burns. Kids need to get real friends and not friends that just take off when the start the trouble.
michael davis said on 06/11/06 @ 08:17 PM: hello my name is michael davis and yes that was me that was burned i have been in the hospital for 2 months now and have recovered vary well. altho one socalled friend did jump out the window the true friend who was the one who lit me did stay and save my life if he had left i would have died and yet me and him where not huffing the one who jumped out the window was. huffing is stupid even more when your friend makes you stop and he is the one who suffers
