Who Are These Folks?

Has anybody ever heard of The Bend Weekly? Simone came across a job posting for them on Craigslist, and it looks like they're looking for a graphics guy, too (though I don't know how comfortable I'd be applying if you're like me and have a family to feed -- I don't know about the longevity or pay). The thing is, despite their claim of "approximate readership is 31,200", I've never once seen their weekly printed edition.

Anybody know anything about this?

you did notice that their main article is from Jan 31st, right? Perhaps they should change their name to "Bend Occasionally."

Oh I didn't say their content was any good (or timely) but I just wanted to see what people knew about them.

Never heard of 'em, and I'm in journalism in this town. Either they're really bad, or I should be worried that I'm out of touch with local media. But how is that possible?

Many of their links don't work, and many classified sections have no entries. Perhaps they'd best be named, "Bend Weakly" :)

Notice the abundance of *-fsbo.com adverts for the same company, seems to be planning a Central Oregon internet storm.

And BendLink.com ... an ISP? wtf must be a dialup reseller.
