UtterlyBoring.com is produced by Jake Ortman (e-mail, resume), a 30-year-old dad, percussionist, freelance Web designer, consultant and jack-of-all-trades computer geek, living in Bend, Oregon. He created this so that his expensive journalism and technology degree isn't getting totally wasted. In addition to editing this site in his free time, he is the IT Director and Ad Designer at both Sunray and Discover Sunriver. Annoying Ads Turned OffDue to constant complaints by folks reading the site, and my inability to keep up in fastclick.com's interface to ban the annoying ads they'll sometimes send, I've turned off the ads that appear at the bottom of this column and replaced them with standard Google ads. I wasn't aware that some of them were putting out sound as I usually keep my speakers off. Sorry for the trouble, but you can now safely browse the site without worrying about your ears being blown off (can't say that for some of the stuff I link to, but you're on your own there).
