UtterlyBoring.com is produced by Jake Ortman (e-mail, resume), a 30-year-old dad, percussionist, freelance Web designer, consultant and jack-of-all-trades computer geek, living in Bend, Oregon. It sure has a different look. :) I still think that what they need the most badly is the ability to sync your profile (skin choices, browser options, bookmarks) with an rpc service online, so you can easily use your profile on any install of firefox anywhere in the world. Why? Because every time I install on someone's computer I have to remember to change that "automagically download files to #$@ desktop" setting for new lusers. The person I'm installing for probably is a new luser, so that's ok for them, I just wanna be able to grab an encrypted copy of my settings off some server and make them live. Add a bookmark, re-sync them to server and have the bookmark waiting for me when I get home. Well, it's not a "distant profile" as you asked, but the ability to start and use FireFox with the profile folder on a relative (or absolute) path, wathever the $USERPROFILE settings of the local computer.
