UtterlyBoring.com is produced by Jake Ortman (e-mail, resume), a 30-year-old dad, percussionist, freelance Web designer, consultant and jack-of-all-trades computer geek, living in Bend, Oregon. He created this so that his expensive journalism and technology degree isn't getting totally wasted. In addition to editing this site in his free time, he is the IT Director and Ad Designer at both Sunray and Discover Sunriver. Great Drum SolosI'm a drummer. Have been since I was about 12. I, unfortunately, don't play the drum set as much as I'd like (I play mostly with the Cascade Winds and Central Oregon Symphony), but I do appreciate a good drum solo, and this page links to some great ones along with audio files of many of them. I heard his big band, LIVE, in 1970 at the old Hoyt Hotel in downtown Portland. Kids weren't going to be let in cuz liquor was served, but he forced the issue and we got to sit in the front row.
