I know you gotta have some rules to keep things in order, but this school’s rules are a bit nuts. You get 12 Reprimands and a $70 fine for viewing or possessing a rated “R” movie (wonder if that includes this movie). You get 18 reprimand, a $100 fine, 18 hours of community service, and a 50% scholarship reduction for entering the residence hall of somebody of the opposite sex (don’t ask what happens if you spend a night with that person, go to a motel room, or have a drink of wine — it gets messy).
Makes me glad I went to a public school. I may be going straight to hell, but at least I had a good time.

Welcome to my life, growing up as a Jehovah’s Witness. We could be “disfellowshipped”, the same as ex-communicated, if we went to rated “R” movies. It was completely insane.
doesn’t sound like liberty to me.
And Jerry Falwell founded the school and is its chancellor which should tell you something right there.
Doesn’t say anything about unrated movies. What a bunch of non-sense.
Makes me glad I didn’t go to school at all 🙂 homeschooled my whole life!
I have a fairly conservative Christian background, and my parents were VERY selective about the movies that we would watch as children. However, I don’t understand why any Religeous organization could rely on whatever secular organization rates movies, doesn’t make a lot of sense. The mormons discouraged thier members from watching “The Passion” because of it’s “R” Rating. Just silly.
The fact that you can get thrown out for posession of alcohol or for having an abortion seems to be the most scary to me, especially as they carry higher penalties than racial and sexual harrasment.
I’m glad I’m not the only one who sees the irony in it being called ‘Liberty University’. That place sounds like hell. The average British student would be chucked out of there within hours, and I’m sure it’s the same with most students in the US too.
