How not to get fired when you Blog at work

I do know that this site has sent traffic to my day job and here's the way I justify it: Many of the folks in my office take smoke breaks -- several of them a day. I don't smoke, but I need a break. So I blog. But just in case, here's a guide on how to avoid getting canned.

Absolutely. Exercise discretion. I was fired over something I placed in my weblog, venting a change in my wages, something the corporate people read as a threat to their company. So... be careful what you say. Yes, it's a private site, but what you say is public.
