ORBlogs now on blogroll

I've been trying to keep up with more Oregon-based blogs to see what people around the state think about things. ORBlogs.com has been slightly redesigned to have a city-based listing, as well as a listing for when a blog's been updated. I notice I'm the only one on the east side of the Cascades. All them Valley folks probably think all of us cowboys and ranchers don't know how to work a computer or something. Oh well...they don't know what they're missing.

I'll be hanging out in SunRiver for a week in July. Perhaps I can get up to Bend to hoist a pint & shake your hand!

Well, if you're in Sunriver for a week in July, and you're not staying with Sunray (my day job), I can't talk to you ;)

But you do know that the best beer and the best burgers in Oregon are in Bend.

Heh. I've gotta admin the Cinder Cone Red from Deschutes knocked me out this year. But I'm not sure about the burger. My favorite is from the Helvetia Tavern just west of Portland, north of Hillsboro.

Hey if the Oregonian said they were damn good burgers, than that's gotta be worth something.

Why Jake! That ten gallon hat is impressive! ;-P

Bend, cowboys? I thought Bend was one of those "new economy" wired cities?

deschuttes is a pretty fantastic brewery. All of their beers are upper crust. I am jealous that you get to live so near to there. The cinder cone red is a really gorgeous beer...like the jubel, I'll look forward to it in it's next time around. Burgers...I dunno. Rob steered me pretty well on his Mexican food suggestion (been having trouble finding just the right sit-down joint...this is close). Now I have to drive 40 minutes for a friggin burger. Helvetia looks like a good destination for my 'hot date' tomorrow evening ;) cheers.

Yes, we're way more wired up than most towns our size. We were the first city in Oregon, after all, to have cable internet.

Mexican food, while there are good places around here (included a couple good 24 hours places) nothing is a really good "Bring the date" type of place.

Oh, and I don't drink, so I only hear that Deschutes is damn good beer. Never had any myself. I do love their brew-pub -- best one I've ever been to.
