How did I miss this movie?

After watching American Idol for a bit here tonight, and two singers sang a song from "The Wiz." I'd never even remotely heard of this movie, so I head over to IMDb and look what I find. The cast? Diana Ross as Dorthy, Michael Jackson as the Scarecrow, Richard Pryor as "The Wiz." The plot outline? "An Afro-American adaption of the Wizard of Oz."

Thanks, but I'll pass.
